Custom Products
With custom products, the customer typically defines the product specifications or provides limit values that are used to design the component suited to the intended application. An important feature of this service is fast prototyping. ETAL is involved in custom projects both at the design stage, and when a second-source for an existing component is required from a competitive and reliable supplier. Custom components are typically sought by telecommunications systems suppliers and manufacturers of power supply units.
Standard Products
ETAL also offers a wide range of standard components designed for use by multiple customers in similar applications. Such products are marketed under the ETAL brand. The ETAL name is well established and highly regarded, especially among the manufacturers of terminal equipment. Principal uses for ETAL standard products include modem applications for computers, internet terminals, set-top boxes, fax machines, Voice-over-IP equipment, powerline devices and payment terminals. ETAL components are also found in voice recording systems, for example as used by City of London brokerage firms. A complete product family for xDSL applications is available. Additionally, the range of standard components includes E1/T1 and ISDN 'U' interface transformers.
